Who runs this

Tűzfalon túl documents the firewalls of the Csarnoknegyed in Józsefváros, Budapest, sponsored by the Zetareh Platform. It is not the official site of any association. Contact us through the contribution form.

Browsing requires nothing

The map, gallery, events and public spaces can be read with no account. There are no tracking or advertising cookies. There is one cookie, tft_lang, which remembers your chosen language for a year, plus a session cookie if you sign in.

Signing in: what reaches us

Sign-in is handled by Zetareh People. This site receives exactly three things: an identifier, a display name and a language. We do not receive a password or an email address.

The identifier is specific to this site: the same person carries a different identifier everywhere else, so these records cannot be joined to data from anywhere else.

What you give us

• Email address — only if you sign up for an event or enter it on your account page. Its only use is event reminders and replying about a contribution. We do not pass it on and we do not send newsletters unless you ask.
• Contributed photographs, stories, corrections — reviewed by a moderator before appearing.
• Messages in spaces — messages in public spaces can be read by anyone.

Something we say plainly

Messages in private spaces can be read by the server: this is not end-to-end encryption, and until it is, we will not claim that it is.

Photographs and authorship

Every photograph carries a photographer and a rights status. Any whose rights are unresolved are not shown publicly. If a photograph of yours appears here and you would rather it did not, write to us and it comes down.

How long we keep things

Records about the walls and their images are part of the project's archive and are kept. Event signups and email addresses are not: those are deleted on request — see data deletion.

Your rights

You may ask for a copy, a correction or the deletion of your data. Your account itself belongs to Zetareh People and can be closed there. Deleting your email address here is one click on your account page — clear the field and save.

Third parties

Map tiles come from OpenStreetMap and the map library from a CDN; both see your browser's IP address, as with any website. We use no advertising or analytics service.
